When I found a hair growing under my chin that was a half inch long, I knew it was time to write the blog about grooming! Chin hairs are far from new to me, I have been plucking those stiff little boogers on the left side of my chin for years. Some are black, some are blonde (OK, white,) but this one escaped me because it was under my chin and it wasn't stiff, merely long.
I share this with you because at some point you, too, will most likely have a few stray hairs to pluck. It's one of the cruel tricks of nature that the hair on our heads will most likely thin and hair will show up in places where we don't want it.

The thing is to stay on top of it by examining your face with a high-powered magnifying mirror (I like the ones with the suction cup) every few days. Don't be shy, get one that shows every little pore! I know, you're thinking you don't want to see your face that close up, especially without makeup. We think we're more attractive in dim lighting, too, don't we? Believe me, after the first few times of seeing your face that close, you'll get used to it.
In addition to the chin hairs, you will probably see more black hairs on the skin between your nose and your upper lip. It hurts, but pluck them. And it's not true that two will grow back for every one you pluck. I have heard that it hurts less if you numb the area with an ice cube first. Frankly, I can't be bothered with that and it sounds like it could get kind of messy. Of course there are also other ways of removing hair: waxing, laser, electrolysis and for more severe cases, hormones and medications.
Don't forget to pluck the stray hairs around your eyebrows. Not only are those stray hairs showing up under your eyebrow, but, you will get them above your eyebrow, too. You'd be surprised how far they can stray!
Last but not least, seeing your face up close is a good way to keep tabs on a mole or a "blemish" that doesn't go away. I had one of those a few years ago and if I hadn't been keeping close watch, I might not have made the trip to the dermatologist quite so soon.
After all this happy news, I have to end on a high note ..... I don't have to shave my legs nearly as often as I used to!

There's one method that'll result in permanent hair removal other than shaving, as far as electrolysis is involved. But others, well, it seems like a scam.
